Civil airport open to public air traffic, the airport is managed since 2019 by the Syndicat mixte des Aéroports de La Rochelle – île de Ré et Rochefort – Charente-Maritime.
Located 12 minutes from Rochefort, 36 minutes from Royan, 45 minutes from St Pierre d’Oléron and 45 minutes from La Rochelle, it is situated along the axis between La Rochelle, Rochefort and Royan.
Rochefort – Charente-Maritime airport can accommodate various types of civil and military aircraft, with a surfaced runway of 2,280 m long and 45 m wide.
Two aircraft parking areas available, paved and unpaved.
From light aviation to business aviation, it counts an average of 11,000 movements (take-offs and landings) every year.
An AFIS (Aerodrome Flight Information Service) is available in French and English, providing information on flight safety and conduct, instructions for aircraft taxiing on the movement areas, weather information, etc.
A transport service is available from the airport to Rochefort town and the SNCF train station (to be booked at least 2 hours before the journey by telephone, or the day before via the MyMobi application).

Public bus
On-demand transport service with reservation.
All year round, Monday to Saturday (except public holidays).
To be booked at least 2 hours before the journey by telephone, or the day before via MyMobi application or on the website.
The vehicle will take me to and from Rochefort town centre (drop-off at Gare SNCF or Roy-Bry stops). Drop-off possible at Échillais-La Pimale stop (south-west sector).
